Jie Shen

Dr. Jie Shen was born in Shanghai in1989. He works as a professor at Stevens Institute of Technology (Hoboken, NJ), where he have taught AI, machine learning theory, and large-scale optimization since 2018. He earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ). Jie has spent a few months as a postdoctoral researcher in Duke University, Durham, North Carolina. Before that, Jie received a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China. He spent 6 months in National University of Singapore as visiting researcher. Dr. Jie Shen has taught AI theory and applications for many years, and his former students now work as engineers and scientists in industry and as professors in academia. Outside of work, he enjoys time with her two daughters, Chloe and Grace. He takes them to the parks, as well as academia conferences all over the world. He records the precious memories with his kids with books.
