Gary R SMITH

Gary R. Smith, also known (occasionally by himself) by several other names, has spent a lifetime in pursuit of curiosity. A one-time radar tech, sometime systems guy, and accidental poet, Gary came of age when computers had vacuum tubes and poetry still came by post. He once built a Zork-style game parser on a PDP-10 and has been trying to explain himself ever since.

Raised in the industrial Midwest, tempered in the tropics, and now tucked into a forest in the Pacific Northwest, he spends his time writing, fixing things that don’t want to be fixed, and quietly avoiding the projects he started last week. He lives with too many memories, too many books, and just enough unfinished thoughts to keep writing. If visit and he is not home, he is probably on the beach, in the woods or visiting friends at the senior center.
