Rafael C. Castillo teaches writing and literature at Palo Alto College in San Antonio. He is the author of Distant Journeys (Bilingual Review Press), Aurora (Floricanto), and Dostoevsky on Guadalupe Street (Peter Lang International). His writings and fiction have appeared in Arizona Quarterly, College English, English Journal, Frank (Paris), New Mexico Humanities Review, Puentes, Southwestern American Literature, Saguaro, Regeneracion, and ViAztlan international journal. His fiction has been anthologized in Under the Pomegranate Tree ( Washington Square Press), Lone Star Literature (Norton), and New Growth (Corona Press). He is a member of PEN America, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and the National Book Critics Circle.
