Dann W Hone

Dann W Hone, B.S. (BYU, 1982) M.A. (Jerusalem University College, 1990), has over 52 years of travel to, teaching, and research in the Near East. He is a founding member of the Brigham Young University Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies, where he served in nearly every academic and administrative position both in the United States and the Near East. He was responsible for training and teaching Jerusalem Center faculty and students in history, archaeology, geography, and scriptures of the Biblical world. He received his degrees in Political Science/International Relations and Biblical History/Historical Geography of the Levant Region. He holds emeritus status with BYU (31 years as an administrator-academic coordinator for the BYU Division of Continuing Education and an instructor for the BYU Department of Ancient Scripture). Dann has written numerous articles, study guides, and textbooks on the ancient and modern Near East. Following retirement from BYU, he entered back into teaching as an adjunct faculty in the Department of History and Political Science at Utah Valley University. He is a guest lecturer for schools, churches, and civic audiences in continuing education courses, conferences and seminars, firesides, radio, and television shows. Dann continues to serve as the Managing Director at the School of International Studies and directs educational travel, having personally assisted over 60,000 people to many parts of the world. His language studies include 16 ancient and modern languages.
