Pamela Avila

Pamela Avila is a children’s book author, educator, and creative soul with a heart for storytelling and a deep love for children’s emotional growth. With over a decade of experience teaching students in elementary school classrooms, she draws inspiration from the laughter, questions, and unique personalities of her students—as well as her beloved granddaughter.

Pamela writes stories that are both silly and sincere, aiming to make children feel seen, supported, and confident. From a nacho-loving ghost to a nervous first grader, her characters reflect the highs and lows of growing up, while offering warmth, humor, and encouragement along the way.

When she’s not writing, Pamela enjoys teaching, creating educational resources for teachers, brainstorming new book ideas, traveling the world with her family, and playing with her dogs.

She is the author of Nacho Average Ghost, Gary and Stinkerton’s Big Pajama Party, and Evie’s First Day of First Grade, with many more delightful adventures in the works.
