Kat Volt was raised in a windswept village on the Welsh coast, where unreliable internet and restless curiosity led her to explore the inner workings of systems both digital and human. By twelve, she had already recoded her school’s attendance system; a project she still insists was purely academic.
With a background in cybersecurity, folklore, and the art of persuasion, Kat now writes from a cottage shielded by three firewalls, a rescue cat with strong opinions, and an ever-growing arsenal of USB drives. Her books dive into the human side of hacking, where ingenuity is the exploit and understanding is the ultimate access.
When she is not dissecting malware or debating cryptography over tea, Kat enjoys studying the digital trails people leave behind.
Her published works include:
Ethical Hacker’s Ascent
The Art of Persuasion: A Social Engineer’s Guide to Human Hacking
Building the Digital Fortress
Unmasking the Digital Shadows
Digital Autopsy: The Art of Cybersecurity Forensics and Incident Response
The Cyber Detective Agency
Kat’s upcoming book, SHADOW CODE: Reverse Engineering the Unconscious Mind – A Hacker’s Guide to Trauma, Healing, and the Self, distills insights from her own therapeutic journey, tailored for security hobbyists and professionals.
