Andrew Whitaker

Andrew j Whitaker is an author who enjoys taking ordinary situations and asking one simple question: What could possibly go wrong?

His books span a wide range of genres and tones, from fantasy and horror to dark comedy, satire, cosy mysteries and the wonderfully absurd.

His Evershade Chronicles take readers into a world filled with strange characters, questionable decisions and plenty of dark humour. His Zombie Apocalypse Factory stories bring the undead into the workplace, proving that even the end of the world probably wouldn't be enough to stop British workplace politics.

The Miscommunication Chronicles take a very different approach to the end of the world. When aliens arrive on Earth intending to come in peace, humanity manages to completely misunderstand the situation and assumes an invasion is underway. What follows is a comedy of errors on a truly global scale, proving that sometimes the biggest threat to humanity isn't an alien invasion... it's our ability to misunderstand a conversation.

Andrew also writes the Margaret Finch Mysteries, a cosy murder mystery series set in the village of Little Barton. Margaret has always dreamed of becoming a brilliant amateur detective. Unfortunately, she has discovered that she may be considerably better at committing murders than solving them.

And then there are the darker corners of Andrew's writing, including books such as Pitched Together and Road to Hell, where comedy and darker themes collide in increasingly unpredictable ways.

Whether it's a village murder, a zombie outbreak, a peaceful alien encounter gone horribly wrong, a fantasy adventure or simply a very bad idea that has gone much too far, Andrew Whitaker's stories are united by one thing:

Expect the unexpected. And probably laugh at it.
