Dino Bernal

Dino Bernal is the author of The Makiling Guardians series, a high-stakes reimagining of Filipino folklore. His work is defined by a unique fusion of genres, blending urban fantasy and hero quests with elements of science fiction and adventure.

Following the release of his debut, Genesis, Dino expanded his expansive universe with the 2026 sequel, Banaag (The Fading Light). He is known for crafting narratives in which ancient myths intersect with modern-day challenges, placing a strong emphasis on themes of camaraderie, cultural heritage, and personal growth.

When he isn’t navigating the legendary landscapes of Mount Makiling, Dino works as a Scrum Master, utilizing his expertise in leadership and team dynamics to build relatable characters and intricate plot structures.

Dino lives in Michigan with his wife, Margaret, and their family. Outside of writing, he enjoys spending time with his dogs and exploring the intersection of technology and storytelling.
