Peter Wise

Peter Wise has been a timber merchant, film editor, builder and kitchen designer. He has written more than twenty stage plays, several pilots for TV sitcoms and drama series, material for “The Two Ronnies” and other TV comedy shows. He has had six plays produced in fringe theatres.

His first novel, NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE, took about three years to write, including obtaining and responding to reports from The Literary Consultancy. The book was partly inspired by Deirdre Bair's challenges while writing a biography of Samuel Beckett.

Wise is ruminating on a few ideas for a second novel and more plays.

While attending Drama classes in his 20s, he started to write for the stage, including pantomimes and, subsequently, formed a cabaret group. There has been a life-long passion for the theatre and cinema.

He has also written a humorous sport book, “Should You Give Up Golf?”, for which he has yet to find a publisher.
