Myra Riddick is a debut children’s author, finance professional, and proud Washington, DC native. She created the Franklin Abroad series to celebrate the unique strengths of children who see the world differently—especially those who think deeply, feel intensely, or notice what others overlook.
As a first-time mom, Myra was inspired to write stories that reflect her son’s brilliance, curiosity, and challenges. The result is Franklin Abroad: First Stop, Tokyo—a culturally rich, neurodivergent-friendly chapter book full of mystery, heart, and global adventure.
When she’s not writing or working in finance, she enjoys traveling with her family, exploring bookstores, and encouraging young readers to embrace what makes them different. Myra believes every child deserves to see themselves as the hero of their own journey—and this is only the beginning.
