I’m married and the mother of three children, and I’m a full-time author.

I started publishing on e-reading platforms before venturing into self-publishing. I’ll spare you the details of some questionable experiences I had with a publishing house a few years ago and another with a literary agent, but that’s why I decided to change my pen name and gradually surround myself with people I trust.

The upside of this name change is that it lets me build something positive around my first names—which, as you may have guessed, I hate! A, Y, and B are the initials of my three first names. Say it “the American way”—doesn’t that sound classier? I love it—and that’s what matters, right?

I fell in love with reading toward the end of high school, and I’ve never put books down since.

The secret is finding what speaks to our hearts and keeps our minds engaged. For me, that’s been fantasy and romance. Naturally, that’s what fueled my imagination when I started writing.

While J.K. Rowling and Stephenie Meyer captivated me when I first started reading, these days I find myself getting swept away by the stories of Rebecca Yarros and Morgane Moncomble. Not exclusively, of course, but it gives you an idea of what I like. They’re incredible, inspiring women.

I started writing during a rather rough patch in my life, when I told myself that the stories in my head had a right to exist and that, even if I wasn’t experiencing anything beautiful, I could create something extraordinary that I could share.

There have been failures, disappointments, and setbacks, but I decided that the obstacles in my path weren’t inevitable and shouldn’t determine my dreams, my desires, or my plans, so I turned them into lessons, I learned, I picked myself up, and I kept going.

Thanks to this mindset and the unwavering support of my family, each of my stories becomes a star that I hang in the sky of my readers so that it will always shine.

Reading and writing are, of course, passions, but above all, they’re a form of therapy—a balm for the heart—a way to escape, to be inspired, to understand, to cry out, to love, to accept or to disagree, to laugh, and to cry…

No matter what happens, in the end, I always give you a happy ending.
