Chris Abbotsford grew up in Richmond-upon-Thames, a riverside town in south‑west London, where the Thames, its islands, and the surrounding Royal Parks first lodged in his imagination. 

Willows Ait, is Chris' debut psychological thriller, draws on these real landscapes to tell the story of Simone, who returns to a crumbling river‑island home to honour a dying; only to be pulled into a reckless insurance scam that mutates into a dangerous game of lies, leverage, and survival.

Blending dark humour, steadily mounting tension, and morally grey characters, Willows Ait explores how one bad plan can spiral into a reckoning that no one expects.

Chris lives with his wife, two dogs, and two cats.
