Lachlan Lancelot

Well, what can I tell you about me? I’m a single guy in my mid-thirties who loves books, movies, and Japanese animation, but I’ve never really been into video games (I know, shocking for a nerd, right?).

For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of becoming a manga artist (inspired by Dragon Ball, of course), or at least doing something creative. But after graduating from a design course, I couldn’t land a job in the anime/manga industry. No surprise there. I mean, have you ever heard of any popular animation coming out of Australia? (Apart from Bluey?)

I ended up working in a completely unrelated industry. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t hate my job. In fact, I was pretty good at it and even managed to build up some savings. But fast forward to this year: I finally decided to take my dream more seriously. I quit my job, started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (because why not?), and began focusing full-time on creating funny, light-hearted history books.

They’re part cartoon, part educational material, and totally my way of making the past feel fun.

It’s been a wild ride so far, and I’m determined to make a living out of it.
