Ersin Uzun

Ersin Uzun, PhD, is a computer scientist, entrepreneur, and an innovation leader. He is currently the Katherine Johnson Endowed Executive Director of the Global Cybersecurity Institute and a professor of cybersecurity at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Previously, Ersin was the vice president of R&D and the head of new ventures at Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) between 2011 and 2022, and worked at Hewlett Packard Labs, Nokia Research Center, and the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology prior to that.

Ersin has 150 global patents and over 45 publications. He is an inductee of Hall of Fame at the University of California, Irvine where he received his MS and PhD in Computer Science, and has served in advisory and review boards of US National Science Foundation, Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, Research Council of Canada, and Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, as well as on the boards and advisory boards of startups and academic institutions. He is an experienced speaker, frequently giving talks on the topics of cybersecurity, AI, technology development, and innovation management.
