Daniel Oviedo

Daniel Oviedo was born in Córdoba, Veracruz, in 1982. A writer and educator, he came of age in Mexico City, shaped by ska, urban rock, and a world without cell phones or internet—where imagination was a matter of survival. He studied Literature at UNAM, where he also completed a Master’s degree, and has since devoted his work to exploring memory, absurdity, and social critique. He is the author of Fósforo Residual, a science fiction novel about identity in times of collapse, and Paciente Cero, a literary homage to Gabriel García Márquez, filled with delirious storytelling and emotional excess. His style blends magical realism, dystopia, and dark humor. He currently splits his time between writing, teaching, and meticulous observation of everyday chaos.
