Born and raised in Jamaica, Marcia grew up on three principles her mother lived by. Love God. To whom much is given, much is expected. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Those principles shaped everything that came after.

A career in corporate technology and employee engagement took her around the world. But the work that changed her most happened closer to home. When dementia came for her mother, Marcia learned what no boardroom ever could. Then it came for her brother. Twice over, she learned the same hard truths. That caregiving is sacred. That it is exhausting. And that most caregivers are handed this role with no instructions at all.

So she wrote the instructions.

Her books are honest, practical, and rooted in real caregiving experience. No clinical distance. No polished detachment. Just the guidance she wishes someone had handed her on day one.

Marcia is the founder of MaxMar Publishing, named for her mother. Max was her mother's family nickname, and Mar is the first three letters of her own name. The imprint exists to elevate God, honor the golden rule, and lift the spirits of people serving others before themselves.
