Jim Hope

I’m Jim Hope, a writer from Worcester, England, with a lifelong fondness for strange worlds, unlikely heroes, and stories that don’t take themselves too seriously.

My fiction tends to combine fantasy, mystery, technology, and humour. I’m inspired by writers such as Sir Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams, but especially by the way they made imaginative worlds feel human, funny, and occasionally inconvenient.

I’m currently working on the third book in the Magitech Mysteries series, and have recently published the first book in the Case Files of the DMC series, a darkly comic urban fantasy series about magical crimes, bureaucratic absurdity, and an underfunded department that refuses to stay quiet.

When I’m not writing, I spend my time coding, making music, and enjoying life with my wife and our two children.

There are always new projects underway, and I’m very glad to have readers along for the journey.
