Andrew Peter Hunter

Andrew Hunter is a children’s author from Lisburn, Northern Ireland, and the creator of Rock 'n' Roll Unicorn — a bold, rhyming picture book bursting with colour, music, and big dreams. A medically retired body piercer living with FND, Andrew now channels his energy into storytelling, illustration, and raising his two children, Ruby and Marley.

He founded RDR Creative, a family-run imprint for fun, empowering books for ages 3–8. The name? It stands for Ruby Dawn Rose — his daughter and creative partner — though Andrew says it could just as easily mean Ruby’s Dad Rocks. While Ruby often sparks ideas, Andrew leads the writing, art, and design.

Upcoming books include Axl the Axolotl Can’t Spell His Name, inspired by Marley’s favourite animal and written for kids who learn differently, and the Crazy Ninja series — based on Ruby’s wild imagination. When he’s not making books, Andrew spends his time burning art into wood, being a dad, and enjoying live music and comedy.
