Kenn Rashad

Kenn Rashad is a journalist, author, and media entrepreneur who’s been amplifying the HBCU experience for over 30 years. As the founder of HBCU Sports—the longest-running digital platform dedicated to Black college athletics—he’s broken national stories, documented cultural shifts, and built a community that values legacy over hype. A proud Grambling State alum, Kenn’s storytelling roots trace back to Inglewood, California, and his early days as a student reporter. His debut book, HBCU Sports 101, is a definitive guide to understanding the power, pride, and purpose behind HBCU athletics. Through his work, Kenn continues to challenge outdated narratives and spotlight the institutions shaping Black excellence.
