C.A. Shakes is a Houston-born poet, storyteller, and creative force whose writing explores the raw, unfiltered layers of love, passion, and personal growth. A self-described hopeless romantic and cultural explorer, she’s been writing since the age of fourteen—using words to navigate the complexities of life and emotion. Her debut collection, Love, Lust, and Loss, offers a vulnerable, sensual glimpse into her inner world, capturing the highs of affection and the ache of heartbreak.

Her upcoming novel, Misunderstood, is a cinematic journey through Houston, New York, and Paris, following two lovers whose emotional walls are challenged by timing, growth, and second chances.

In 2019, she launched Triple 8 Threads, a lifestyle brand inspired by the legacy of Nipsey Hussle. By 2023, she expanded the vision into Triple 8, LLC—a creative home for her books, fashion, and wellness products. When she’s not writing, she draws inspiration from music, art, travel, and quiet lakeside reflections.
