Mike Gardon

Dr. Pooja A. Patel is an occupational therapist with Board Certification in Gerontology. With a decade of work in the hospital system, she specializes in working with older adults and their families, with additional certifications in dementia and fall prevention. Called to meet a gap in the community, Dr. Patel started Aging Together, providing education, resources, and support services to family caregivers of older adults. She also hosts a podcast with the same name, tackling various topics related to aging, elder care, and caregiving in the USA, along with interviewing caregivers who share their lived experiences.

Outside of Aging Together, Dr. Patel is an Adjunct Assistant Professor, continues to practice in the hospital setting, teaches online CE courses through AspireOT, and sits on the Board of the Illinois Occupational Therapy Association (ILOTA). When she's not fulfilling one of her many professional roles, you can find her reading, coloring, or cuddling her cavapoo.
