ALEX BROWN

Alex Brown is a self-published author with a passion for storytelling that spans both gritty adult fiction and whimsical children's tales. He has written and independently published three novels and fourteen Snoozlewhoosh children's books in the series to date. His debut novel, Hit Me (2018), is a darkly comic crime thriller set in Edinburgh, introducing readers to Barnabas Wild and a world of sharp wit and sharper consequences. He followed this with the acclaimed bestseller Niddrie Boys (2022), a powerful work of creative non-fiction inspired by real events, offering a raw and compelling glimpse into life on the margins. His latest novel, Hit Me Rise of the Bingham Btucher (2025), continues the darkly humorous and thrilling journey begun in Hit Me, with a third instalment in the series, Revenge of the Niddrie Warriors, currently in the works.

In addition to his novels, he is the creator of the Snoozlewhoosh children's book and YouTube video series, initially written for his six beloved grandchildren. These stories are about a magical soft toy owl named Snoozlewhoosh (Sleepfast) who comes to life when the children fall asleep, taking them on amazing adventures in the Magical World of Dreams and are filled with heart, imagination, and adventure. They have captured the joy of bedtime storytelling and continue to grow with many more titles on the horizon. Blending real-life grit with creative flair, his work is united by a distinctive voice, vivid settings, and an undeniable love for storytelling in all its forms.
