Sterling Penn

About the Author

Sterling Penn (a pen name for reasons of privacy) grew up surrounded by stories, encouraged early on by a mother who was an elementary school teacher and a lifelong advocate for literacy and imagination. Some of his earliest memories involve learning letters through sound, play, and storytelling—experiences that sparked a lasting love of language. A childhood filled with creative exploration, from alphabet tapes to writing words in snow, helped shape both his curiosity and his voice as a writer.

In middle school, an English teacher recognized his potential and told him he would become a writer someday—a prediction that stayed with him long after the classroom years passed.

Though his path eventually led him through higher education, professional work, and family life, the call to write never faded. He now returns to storytelling with a renewed focus on fiction that explores identity, resilience, and the quiet struggle to understand one’s worth.

His work often reflects themes of faith, personal growth, and the tension between striving and belonging. He is particularly interested in stories that illuminate how meaning is formed through experience, memory, and relationships.

Sterling Penn lives and writes in Arizona.
