Eric D. Nelson has written copy for every medium during his 15-year marketing career and prior journalism roles. He earned his master’s degree from the University of Iowa’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication (‘09) before transitioning to media work supporting digital sales and marketing initiatives, then agency work serving dozens of local, regional, and national clients with both creative and media strategy, followed by brand and content marketing for a major advertising technology company. Nelson has been an adjunct instructor for the University of Iowa’s Master of Arts in Strategic Communication program since 2013, teaching Digital Strategic Communication, Digital Analytics for Strategic Communication, and Copywriting for Strategic Communication. As a public speaker, he has given talks to several associations and chambers of commerce on these and related marketing topics. Nelson lives in Des Moines, Iowa, with his wife and their two daughters, about whom he has written two children’s books.
