Kathy Hegberg M.A.

Kathy Hegberg, M.A. grew up as an Air Force “brat,” moving often and finding strength in nature and awe-filled experiences. These helped her family navigate major transitions, including the early loss of her father. Now a child and family therapist, Kathy is the founder of FocusedKids™, a Colorado nonprofit that blends brain science, mindfulness, and connection. She previously owned a successful kids’ retail business, co-founded the Aspen Education Foundation, and taught in the University of Colorado’s counseling program. Since 2011, she’s grown FocusedKids into a respected program serving schools and families. She also launched the Healthy Brains, Healthy Lives conference, authored multiple brain-based resources, and continues evolving the work using Harvard’s IDEAS model. Kathy is a mom, grandma, author, knitter, kayaker, hiker—and Mini Cooper enthusiast!
