Ernesto Martinez

Ernesto Martinez is a fiction writer who turns pieces of his own life into imaginative sci-fi and fantasy stories, crafted mainly for teens and adults. Raised in New Mexico, he has also spent time in East Texas and now calls Iowa home. His storytelling often reflects his personal journey—blending realism with fantasy, grit with wonder.

Though Ernesto says he’s “not much of a writer,” he’s deeply committed to learning the craft. He’s currently studying criminal justice at NMSU Global Campus and finds inspiration in music, movies, and everyday life. During the COVID pandemic, he even hosted a podcast about New Mexico music and different artists in the state. He helped behind the scenes of a few music videos from local artists.

When he’s not writing or studying, Ernesto spends time with his family and two dogs, Max and Ruby, and his two cats, Nani and Lilo—his unofficial co-authors and constant companions.
