About the Author ( Written by Oma Bridgelal)
When people ask me who my uncle is, I never begin by telling them he’s an author.
I tell them he’s a devoted husband. A loving father. A man of deep faith.
The books came later.
My uncle, Pradeep R. Bridgelal, was born and raised in Trinidad, where Sanātana Dharma was not simply something to be learned, it was something to be lived. It was woven into family life, celebrations, stories, music, and everyday conversations. Those experiences became the foundation of the life he would later dedicate to sharing with others.
Today, he lives in the United States with his beloved wife, his partner, and first love, marrried since 1997. Together, they have built a life rooted in faith, love, and unwavering commitment, raising four wonderful children while remaining as devoted to one another as they were when their journey first began. Their enduring marriage is a testament to the very values found throughout his writing, love, family, perseverance, and devotion.
Like many families living far from their ancestral roots, they witnessed how easily younger generations can become disconnected from their cultural and spiritual heritage. Rather than watch those traditions slowly fade, Pradeep chose to preserve them in a way that would speak to modern readers, especially children, young adults, and families searching for a meaningful connection to their roots.
What began as a desire to preserve his heritage became a lifelong calling.
To date, Pradeep has written seventeen books published and available on Amazon, with several more already in development. His growing collection includes:
The Hinduism for Starters Series: Breaking down the foundational concepts of Sanātana Dharma for the absolute beginner.
The Sanatan Dharma Songbook & The Chalisa Sangam: A wealth of Bhajans, Kirtans, Mantras, Chalisas, and Stotras provided in Hindi, transliterated text, and English translations to assist the aspiring devotee in daily worship.
The Ananda Katha Series: Dedicated to exploring and sharing the beauty of the lesser-known Ananda Ramayana.
The Niti Katha Series: Timeless Kathas and folk tales of India written specifically with the teenager and young adult in mind.
The Little Gods, Big Hearts Series: Precious Puranic tales adapted for children ages 4 to 12, featuring stories and activities designed for an immersive learning experience.
There are many other devotional and educational projects still in the works, including a comprehensive reproduction of The Parasara Samhita and The Mahabharatha.
Many of his Kindle releases have reached the #1 Best Seller position in their respective categories. To ensure these teachings remain as accessible as possible, most of his works are available as free downloads on Kindle Unlimited, making the timeless wisdom of Sanātana Dharma available to readers worldwide at no additional cost.
What makes his books unique is their unwavering commitment to authenticity. Every story is carefully researched and rooted in scripture, drawing directly from the Vedas, Upanishads, Purāṇas, and other sacred Itihāsa texts. His goal has never been to reinvent these timeless teachings, but to present them with clarity, reverence, and compassion so they can be understood and appreciated by today’s generation.
As his niece, I’ve had the privilege of watching this journey unfold. I’ve seen the countless hours he spends studying, researching, writing, editing, and refining each manuscript. These books are not projects undertaken for recognition or success. They are acts of devotion.
He believes that our scriptures are far more than stories from the past. They are living guides that teach us how to navigate life with courage, humility, compassion, and faith. Through every page he writes, his hope is that readers, especially those living far from their ancestral homeland, can rediscover the beauty of Sanātana Dharma, strengthen their relationship with God, and pass these timeless teachings on to future generations.
For my uncle, preserving these sacred teachings is more than a profession.
It is his offering.
