Andrea Bachmann-Münsterer
Andrea is a mother, who had to parent her children through some tough times (divorce, abuse and widowhood), and who had to rely on intuition to make sure her children stayed happy, positive people with lots of enthusiasm for life and largely unaffected by life’s adversities.
Careful observation of her children during these challenging times and the questioning of our widely accepted parenting and educational systems made her realize, that there is something fundamentally wrong in the universally acknowledged path of raising our children. There is a trend to categorize them into various forms of “disorders”- Andrea asks “Is this really helping, or deflecting from the truth?”
Andrea needed to re-build her life from scratch, and got the chance to throw everything overboard that did not fit into her new and simplified life, including any expectations other family members and society had, of how she was supposed to be and be raising her children. Her liberation speaks to many parents who are also in inner conflict about blindly following the norms.
Andrea lives on a farm in Germany. After her University years in Toronto, she became a goldsmith in Germany, married, had two children, divorced and after working in the jewelry field for several years, started her own business as an oil-miller, producing healthy oils. After her loving second husband passed away, she took over the farm. Living a rural life, surrounded by pastureland and horses, Andrea has the space to think, research and reflect on modern parenting, and how we can be doing things a little better for all of us.
