Navdeep Singh (also known as Major Navdeep Singh) is a lawyer at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, India. He practices constitutional law, specializes in service matters (employment related matters) and has also worked in the fields of disability and gender rights jurisprudence. He is a globally recognised expert on tribunalization and military-related law. He was the founder President of the Armed Forces Tribunal Bar Association, Chandigarh, India and is a decorated former Territorial Army reservist-volunteer. He was a Member-Participant at the drafting of the “Yale Draft” at the Yale Law School and was also on the drafting committee of the “Commonwealth Military Justice Principles” (The “Stellenbosch Draft”).
He is a former Member of a high-level Committee of Experts constituted under the Defence Minister to reduce litigation and initiate reform in redressal of grievances in the Armed Forces. He is Member of International Society for Military Law and the Law of War at Brussels, the first International Fellow of the National Institute of Military Justice at Washington DC, and one of the five appointed members of the military justice advisory committee of the Commonwealth Secretariat, London. He is
also one of the Honorary Chief Editors of the Forces Law Review, the world’s first global military law journal.
