THOMAS F. KANE

They have four children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren

My first years were spent in New York City. We lived in Brooklyn and I commuted

to high school and college in downtown Manhattan. In 1961, upon graduation from

Fordham University, at the age of 23, I went on active duty with the US Marine Corps.

The five years spent in the Corps were, simply, the most formative years of my life.

I met Judy, my wife of 60 years at Quantico, was married at Pensacola and all four

children were born into the Marine Corps. I served in Vietnam as a jet pilot in 1965,

and my heart never left the Corps. As a Founder, I consider the Marine Museum at

Quantico to be my spiritual home irrespective of where I may live.

During my four years at Fordham University-Downtown, I worked at Salomon

Bros, a major securities firm on Wall Street. This followed in my father's and family's

footsteps. I started as a 'runner' during Summers from 1954-1957 and year round from

1958-1961. It was, in effect, my financial graduate school. All during my active-duty

years in the Corps I yearned to get back to 'Wall Street'.

Leaving active duty in 1966, I joined RW Pressprich & Co, a prestigous Wall

Street firm. I remained there for six years and then, along with three cohorts, founded

Printon Kane & Co, an institutional bond firm. For twenty-three years, we were very

successful in our chosen fields. In 1995, facing major changes in the industry, I

decided to exit the business and pursue other areas of interest. Printon Kane was the

major focus of my business and family life throughout the seventies, eighties and into

the 1990s.

Those periods gave rise to a number of other ventures along the way, but

PK&Co was the engine that drove the deals.

In 1987, I committed to buy Adare Manor, a residential estate in Ireland. We

transformed it into a luxury hotel, built a championship golf course, and created the #1

Golf Resort in Europe. It defined our family's life for the ensuing 27 years. We sold it in

2015. In 2027, the Ryder Cup, golf's most prestigious event is scheduled to be played

on the Robert Trent Jones golf course we built.

As Judy's health became and issue, along with my two bouts of cancer, we

returned home to the US and Florida in 2011. The ensuing ten years, until her passing,

were simply the best years of our lives. She was always an Iowa farm girl and I, a kid

from Brooklyn.

We had always been active in various charity organizations. Two of note were,

The Community Foodbank of New Jersey and Operation Smile. The later was for a

period of 32 years, until I retired at age 80. This love affair is documented in 'From

Brooklyn to Adare'.

I was also active in the field of higher education. I served on the Boards of

Georgetown University from 1986-89 and Fordham University's Board from 1986-92. I

was Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Fordham from 1989-1992.

I also served as Chairman of the North American Board of the Smurfit Graduate

School of Business, University College Dublin. 1989-91.

I was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Felician University in 1991 for

service to higher education.

Another field of interest has been healthcare. In the 1970s I served on the Board

of Overlook Hospital. In the 2000s, I was on the Board of the Lahey Clinic in Boston

2004-10. Since early 2000s I have been on the Corporate Board of Jupiter Medical

Center.

In summary, I have been blessed with a full and healthy life. For sixty of these 86

years I was fortunate to have a wife and friend along for the ride. Today, I still have my

kids, grandkids and great grandkids in addition to the long list of close friends.
