Professor Nidhi Sofat is a medical doctor who is passionate about improving the diagnosis and care for patients with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. She trained in London, earning her medical degree from University College London and her specialist training and PhD from Imperial College London.
Nidhi has won several prizes for her research into MSK conditions, including the Michael Mason Prize by the British Society for Rheumatology and the Pain Category Prize from the OsteoArthritis Research Society International (OARSI). MSK conditions include some of the commonest causes of joint pain and autoimmune diseases worldwide. Professor Sofat’s books discuss the management of common conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. In a medical industry dominated by the latest clinical trials, Nidhi also explores how to do good, effective clinical trials to develop better and more targeted treatments for patients.
