Maxime Haubert

Maxime Haubert holds a doctorate in Religious Sciences and a Ph.D. in Arts and Humanities. He worked as researcher and professor of sociology in the Institute for Development Studies (IEDES) of the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and was head of this Institute from 1989 to 1996. He has also been a visiting professor at several universities in Brazil, Guatemala and México. In 1966 he was received as honorary fellow in the Círculo de Estudios Antropológicos del Paraguay. He wrote books and papers on colonial history of Latin America and socio-economic aspects of less-developed countries or regions (eg. food policy, family farmers, wealth distribution, sociology of poverty, co-operatives, ideology of "civil society").
