Anton & Addie

Anton and Addie have been partners in life and creativity for 38 years. Their journey together has given them a wealth of experience in childhood development and education through raising five children of their own and now enjoying the wonder of seven grandchildren.

Anton is a retired Navy veteran whose service to our country instilled in him the values of dedication, resourcefulness, and community that shine through in the Uncle Bill character. The challenges he's overcome throughout his military career and beyond have given him a unique perspective on the importance of teaching resilience and problem-solving to young minds.

Addie brings her nurturing spirit and creative vision to their stories, drawing from decades of hands-on experience guiding children through their formative years. Her attention to the small teachable moments in everyday life forms the gentle learning opportunities woven throughout the Uncle Bill Series.

Together, Anton and Addie approach children's literature from an "experiential learning" perspective, believing that children absorb knowledge best when engaged in the discovery process. This philosophy is reflected in the interactive nature of their books, where young readers are invited to help Uncle Bill solve problems and identify new things.

The authors believe every child should have an "Uncle Bill" in their life—someone who takes the time to turn ordinary moments into extraordinary learning adventures.
