Before she became a storyteller, Stephanie spent years in the startup trenches as a product manager, building financial tools designed to help middle- and under-banked Americans access the systems that had long excluded them.

When Covid left her with damaged vision and a heart that occasionally forgets how to behave, she traded boardrooms for a 1914 farmhouse along the Columbia River, where she now writes with the help of assistive technology, a fourteen-year-old daughter who keeps her honest, and an ever-changing menagerie of rescue animals — including a troublingly intelligent African Grey parrot named Aughty.

When she's not wrangling any of the above, Steph enjoys wine, gardening, sailing, and traveling to interesting places that make her mother worry.
