M.A. Rathore is a distinguished Indian poet, writer, translator, and artist, recognized for his commitment to literary excellence and humanitarian values. Born on January 24, 1974, in Rajasthan, he currently resides in Hanumangarh and serves as an English teacher at Mahatma Gandhi Government (English Medium) School, Kohla, Hanumangarh. Rathore holds master's degrees in English, Philosophy, Geography, History, and Rajasthani.
With a philosophical vision and literary insight, Rathore blends metaphysical reflection with a profound sense of humanism. His poetry, characterized by themes of justice, equality, freedom, and spirituality, seeks to inspire moral consciousness and promote the cause of global peace. Teaching is his lifelong vocation, while poetry remains his enduring passion.
An ardent advocate for universal harmony, Rathore actively contributes to international literary and peace forums, including the World Foundation for Peace (WFP), where he has served in the Secretariat. He is also the Vice-President of the Rajasthan Gallery of the World Union of Poets (WUP) and a Director at the India Branch of the World Institute for Peace.
Rathore’s literary contributions include numerous poetry collections and translations, such as Pathless Woods (2015), Pearls of Repose (2017), The Voice of Silence (2017), The Essence of Life (2018), Words Fail When Silence Speaks (2022), The Voice of Humanity (2022), Drizzling Dales (2025), Let Me Not Know Your Secrets (2025), and Winged Seeds (2025). His notable translation works include Two and Two Make Five by Bhanwar Lal Jat (2022), Leeltans by Kanhaiya Lal Sethia (2025), Radha by Satyaprakash Joshi (2025), Hari-Ras by Isardas Barhath (2025), and Soordas Ro Bharmar Geet, translated from Brij into English (in press).
In his early years, Rathore was deeply engaged in visual art and earned a livelihood as a painter. This aesthetic foundation enriched his poetic voice. His literary journey was nurtured during his college years under the mentorship of respected educators, inspiring his transition from one-act plays to lyrical poetry. His initial editorial work with Vaichariki, the college magazine of N.M. (P.G.) College, Hanumangarh, marked the beginning of a prolific creative career.
Rathore’s poetry reflects a deeply personal yet universal narrative, addressing the spiritual, emotional, and social dimensions of life. With a voice rooted in compassion and resilience, he uplifts the marginalized and envisions a world unified by shared human values. Despite not adhering to any specific religion, his worldview is profoundly spiritual, grounded in love, empathy, and service to humanity.
Internationally published and awarded, his works appear in major anthologies such as World Anthology of English Poetry, Whispering Winds, Feeling International: A Book of Artists (USA), Dhai Aakhar Prem (Hindi), and Yatharth (Hindi).
