Richard Sgaglio

Richard Sgaglio is a writer, educator, and marketing executive whose work explores the emotional landscape of love, loss, fear, and redemption. A member of the LGBTQ+ community, he is dedicated to giving voice to those who often feel unseen and unheard—especially those navigating identity, faith, and personal transformation.

His debut novel, When The Road Narrows, is a coming-of-age story set in the 1980s during a time of rising conservatism and the emerging AIDS crisis.

Beyond writing, Richard has spent much of his career in nonprofit healthcare and advocacy. He is the former Board President of Friends of Karen, a nonprofit supporting families of children with life-threatening illnesses, and co-founder of the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.

He is also the co-author of The Forensic Investigation Handbook, a widely used academic resource. Richard lives in New York with his husband and their rescue dogs.
