Bård Nikolas Vik Steen (b. 1992) is a geopolitical analyst and scholar of international relations who serves as a senior adviser at the Norwegian ministry of defence. Steen helped draft Norway’s National Security Strategy and served as a civilian secretary to Norway’s first Defence Commission since the Cold War. From 2018 to 2020 he was the programme manager of the Norwegian Nobel Institute. Steen has edited and co-authored several books on geopolitics and international relations. He is the son of Norwegian author, Thorvald Steen.
