I am a professor of neurosurgery at the Renaissance School of Medicine in Stony Brook, New York. I have practiced neurosurgery for 45 years and have performed more than 7000 brain operations. My primary research is on brain blood flow and cerebrospinal fluid flow, and I have a strong interest in cognitive neuroscience, philosophy of mind and the mind-brain relationship. I am Catholic and I have a strong interest in the work of St. Thomas Aquinas.
