Dr. Marshall James Cowell

Dr. Marshall J. Cowell is a distinguished educator, military veteran, author, and leadership strategist with over 25 years of experience in operations, education, and organizational development. Dr. Cowell earned his Doctorate in Global Business and Leadership from California Intercontinental University, holds a Master’s in Leadership from Southwestern College, and a Bachelor of Science in Management and Ethics from Mid-America Christian University. He also holds a certificate in Engineering Project Management from Rice University, and various federal and military leadership certifications.

Prior to his role in higher education, Dr. Cowell served honorably in the United States Army, where he led operations teams, managed compliance, and coordinated safety programs for over 30 personnel across multiple commands. Following his military retirement, he continued to support the Department of Defense through civilian roles as an operations manager, technical instructor, and safety officer.

An accomplished adjunct professor at Park University and Wayland Baptist University, Dr. Cowell teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Organizational Behavior, Strategic Leadership, Ethics, Global Business, and Project Management. His teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking, student empowerment, and real-world application rooted in ethical leadership.

Dr. Cowell is also a published author of several books, including Generational Wealth: Breaking the Chains of Injustice and The Financial Miseducation of the Poor and Middle Class. His scholarly work has appeared in journals such as the Military Logistics Review and the Global Leadership Forum, and he regularly presents on topics like ethical leadership, veteran transition, and organizational accountability.

He is a member of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) and is deeply committed to fostering educational access, equity, and empowerment for veterans, their families, and underserved communities.
