Kimberly Haidinger

Kimberly Haidinger is the author of A Kid's Guide to Climate Activism and A Kid's Guide to Economic Activism for the Climate, the first two books in The Climate Action Vocabulary Series - a nonfiction collection designed to equip middle grade readers with the language, confidence, and practical tools to help shape a more sustainable and just world.

With a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Quinnipiac University and a Sustainability Certificate from the University of Michigan, Kimberly blends strategic thinking, storytelling, and systems-level awareness into empowering educational resources for young changemakers.

Before becoming an author, Kimberly spent 25 years in the franchising industry as a business owner and was once a professional ballroom dancer. Her journey - from dance floors to boardrooms to climate-focused classrooms - reflects her belief that meaningful change begins with courageous steps and the right vocabulary to lead them.

Inspired by her daughter Luna, the illustrator of the series, and driven by a desire to help preserve the planet for future generations, Kimberly began a personal mission to better understand how individual and collective actions shape climate and economic systems. Her time living in Denmark profoundly influenced her perspective on community-centered sustainability and demonstrated that collaborative solutions are not only possible, they are already happening.

Through her writing, speaking, and blogging, Kimberly encourages families to see activism not as protest alone, but as participation: in markets, in communities, and in everyday decisions. She believes the next generation doesn’t just need hope - they need tools. And it starts with words.
