Elena Escalante-Block

Elena Escalante-Block is currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow (MSCA) at ARENA, University of Oslo, where she investigates the effects of the politicisation of EU antitrust cases on citizens’ trust in the European Commission and the implicated firms. Prior to this, she served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Antwerp, researching the politicisation of EU trade agreements. She completed her PhD at Sciences Po Paris, where she was also a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow and part of PLATO, an Innovative Training Network (ITN). Her PhD research focused on the role of state aid cases in the politicisation/depoliticisation and legitimation/delegitimation dynamics of the European Union. Additionally, she holds a Master of Research from Macquarie University, a Master of International Relations from the University of Sydney, and a combined Bachelor of Journalism / International Relations from the University of Queensland.
