R.L. Imre is the author of the St. Augustine Mysteries, a dark supernatural crime series blending occult elements, psychological suspense, and modern police investigation against the haunted backdrop of Florida’s oldest city. Her work explores the ways evil adapts over time—how historical secrets, supernatural forces, and contemporary crime collide in the present.
She is also the author of the Savannah Mysteries, a series of straight crime and murder investigations featuring a sharp, determined female protagonist navigating modern cases rooted in history, motive, and human deception. Set in and around Savannah, Georgia, these detective stories focus on atmosphere, character, and the relentless pursuit of truth without supernatural elements.
Before turning her focus fully to fiction, R.L. Imre spent 30 years as a teacher, an experience that deeply informs her writing—particularly her attention to detail, investigative process, and the psychological underpinnings of both criminals and those who hunt them.
She currently resides in Savannah, Georgia, with her husband and a lively assortment of fur babies, where moss-draped oaks, historic streets, and coastal shadows continue to inspire her crime and mystery fiction.
When she isn’t writing, she can often be found researching obscure historical details, refining complex plots, or walking Savannah’s historic districts—always on the lookout for the next story hiding in plain sight.
