Aude Castel

A self-taught author and independent publisher, Aude Castel creates educational children’s books dedicated to supporting children living with Hirschsprung’s disease.

Her work originated from a specific need: to explain a complex medical reality to a two-year-old child using simple, accurate, and accessible words and images. In the absence of appropriate resources, the writing of « My Tummy Has a Story » initially began for strictly personal use, before resonating with many families facing the same condition.

The project then evolved into a broader editorial approach, with the creation of activity workbooks designed as genuine tools for understanding, dialogue, and support for children, their families, and professionals.

Committed to sharing knowledge and supporting the community, a portion of the proceeds from book sales is donated to French associations working on research and initiatives related to Hirschsprung’s disease, including the French podcast « Petit Hirschsprung deviendra grand ».
