Andrea Ruben Pomella holds a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Naples ‘L’Orientale’. He conducted ethnographic fieldwork in the railway station area of Naples, focusing on the informal practices of survival employed by asylum seekers and members of the local Senegalese community. His primary research area revolves around the processes of racialisation of space, exploring how the physical environment shapes the social and economic conditions of racialised individuals. He also delves into the processes of racialisation of affects, studying how social relationships are established by racialised people and white people.
