J.M. MARTOS

JM MARTOS (Jaén, 1973) is a writer and a Sergeant in the Civil Guard. Over more than twenty-five years of service, he has worked in various units (Seprose, Citizen Security, Seprona, etc.) and held numerous posts.

He holds an Advanced Diploma in Security and is a Private Security instructor. He is also an expert in Criminology from the University of Huelva, and holds diplomas in Forensic Biology and Law from the Complutense University of Madrid.

Additionally, he holds a diploma in the Protection of Archaeological and Historical Heritage from the Regional Government of Andalusia.

In 2023, he was named a Knight of the Order of the Custodian Knights of Calatrava la Vieja.

His first novel, TARTESSOS O NAZZIS (Caligrama Publishing, 2020), was very well received and became a finalist in the prestigious Cartagena Negra crime, mystery, and detective novel competition in 2021.

His micro-story POETIC JUSTICE won first prize in the contest organized by Cadena SER and Guadalajara en Negro in 2021.

He currently writes an opinion column for Diario Jaén.

His latest novel, THE TRUE NAME OF GOD (2025), was awarded Best Self-Published Novel 2025 by Página Abierta. It has also reached No. 1 on Amazon and Kindle more than 100 times across various categories, including Historical Mystery, Christian and Jewish Literature, Conspiracy Thrillers, and Fundamentalism and Religious Persecution.
