Lissette Jacobson is a recognized advocate for multilingual learners, dedicated to building inclusive systems that support academic success, language development, and biliteracy for all students. With over a decade of experience serving culturally and linguistically diverse students, Lissette brings both classroom and leadership expertise to her work. Her focus includes foundational literacy, oral language development, dual language education, and systems for instructional equity.
A proud first-generation Mexican American and former English learner, Lissette’s personal story drives her mission to affirm student identities and elevate the role of all languages in public education. She is the co-founder of Culture, Identity, and Multilingual Advocacy (CIMA), a consulting firm that helps schools address educational challenges through a culturally and linguistically responsive lens.
Lissette is also the co-creator and co-host of Black, Brown & Bilingüe, a podcast that centers the experiences of multilingual and racially diverse communities while exploring what it means to create affirming, equitable spaces in schools. She lives with her husband, Brett, and their two sons, Maxwell and Miguel, who inspire her daily to reimagine education with joy, belonging, and possibility. She currently serves as the Director of Multilingual Services, and oversees programming for students in grades Pre-K-12.
