"Treetop" and "One Distraction Too Many" (found in Appendix A of Treetop) are offshoots of bedtime stories I told my kids when they were very young. After a few years of telling spontaneous bedtime stories, I realized the stories were being forgotten as time passed. "Treetop" and "One Distraction Too Many" were saved by writing them down and developing them over the years.
"Treetop" chronicles an adventure on Christmas Eve in a snowy mountain forest experienced by Rebekah and Jonas, 7 and 6 year old kids. "One Distraction Too Many" is a story about the misadventures of two German Shepherd puppies named Jabekah and Ronas.
"Treetop" and "One Distraction Too Many" are stories that can be used as homeschooling or Sunday school Bible study aids. Appendix B lists Bible verses for each chapter of both stories that relate to events described in the chapters. These verses can stimulate conversations about how God's word can be applied in various circumstances.
"A Coloring Book of Treetop" is now available. The images in the coloring book are arranged in the order they appear in the book.
I have created two other coloring books that are now available to you. One is titled "Vintage 4x4 Off-Road Coloring Book-Exploring Creation in a 4-Wheel Drive." The other is titled "A Bible Coloring Book of the Old Testament." My career was spent in campus and municipal law enforcement observing how decisions--rooted in or apart from God's law--shaped lives and outcomes. I hope my stories illustrate how embracing "the fear of the LORD" principal leads to trustworthy wisdom and knowledge--guiding us away from life's pitfalls and toward a deeper understanding of how to apply God's law in all areas of life.
