Leticia Guimas

Leticia’s own childhood was always connected to stories. Being a former teacher, she knew each child carried their own universes with them. Having worked across a variety of international schools, she was fortunate enough to be able to meet students who spoke Portuguese, Spanish, English, Arabic, Mandarin, and sometimes only the language of laughter. She listened to their stories — about missing home, learning new words, and building friendships across language barriers.

Born in the countryside of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, the cherished stories told by her students are her inspiration for many of the scenes which appear in her books.
