Paul Gillispie

Paul Gillispie is an Author, Navy veteran, former executive chef, and dynamic musical theatre performer whose journey defies the odds. Raised in Pomona, California, during the turbulent 1980s, a time marked by the crack epidemic and violent gang wars. Paul’s early life was shadowed by trauma. Enduring physical, mental, and sexual abuse as a child, he was ultimately kicked out of his home at just 17 years old and forced to navigate the world with no clear path laid before him.

Despite these harrowing beginnings, Paul forged a life of transformation and resilience. He battled and overcame alcoholism, finding strength in recovery and a renewed sense of purpose. His experiences have fueled a powerful voice in literature and advocacy.

Paul is the author of Golden Bruises, a raw and poetic memoir chronicling his survival and healing. He has also written several impactful affirmation books, including Clean and Clear, a compassionate guide for those on the sober path; Still Standing Strong, dedicated to individuals living with PTSD; and Rise, Shine, Slay the Day, a bold, empowering collection for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Paul lives with joy and authenticity, married to the love of his life. His life’s work continues to inspire those seeking hope, healing, and unapologetic self-expression.
