Amanda Freeman

Amanda Freeman is a children’s author and graphic designer whose stories celebrate friendship across differences. Born in Barra Mansa, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Amanda found a new home in Mullingar, County Westmeath, Ireland when she immigrated in 2011. After embracing Irish life for over a decade, she became an Irish citizen in 2024.

An avid reader of fantasy and a lifelong enthusiast of art and technology, Amanda combined her skills as a a communications specialist, educator and graphic designer with cutting-edge AI tools to bring her books' illustrations to life. Drawing inspiration from a county rich in Irish Mythology and legends, and her own experiences as an immigrant, Amanda hopes that her stories will inspire children to embrace their uniqueness and discover the joy of making friends from all walks of life.
